Everglades Backcountry Fishing

 Come with us and explore the edges of the Florida Everglades estuary, where fresh and saltwater meet  to form one of the most diverse and productive fishing grounds in the world.

What We Can Do .........

 Our highly productive, shallow water fishing area extends from Marco Island on the lower West Coast all the way south and east to Flamingo (45 miles southwest of Florida City).

We offer several types of fishing excursions:

  1. Single day trips - Meet me at the Everglades National Park Visitor Center (6 miles sw of Florida City) and I will drive you to Flamingo, launch the flats boat and spend a full day sampling the abundant fishery in Whitewater Bay and/or Florida Bay.

  2. Multiple day trips - Ten Thousand Islands - Meet me at my fish camp in Ochopee (Trail Lakes Campground), 8 miles northeast of Everglades City. We will launch the boat in Everglades City and spend the day exploring the fishing opportunites amongst the Ten Thousand Islands portion of the 'Glades. Spend one or more nights in a  comfortable, fully equipped 35' travel trailer. Next day - repeat the previous day's adventure.

 3. Multiple day trips - Marco Island - Meet me at my spacious waterfront vacation home on beautiful Marco Island. No more driving - the boat is at my dock. We jump in and fish as long as you wish, then return to the Marco house and relax in comfort and prepare for the next day(s)' fishing.

Houseboat Trips - Meet me at the Port of the Islands Marina (Midway between Everglades City and Marco Island on the Tamiami Trail). We will board my 35' houseboat and tow my flats skiff into the Ten Thousand Island area. Spend two or three nights on the fully-equipped (with A/C) houseboat and fish all day. The houseboat is currently being upgraded - call for updates.
